Outlook 2000 : Advanced find searching indefinately

The Advanced Find function in Outlook 2000 searches indefinately unless
the Stop button is pressed where it will then show the results.

Is this a known bug with Office 2000 ? Ive uninstalled and reinstalled
office 2000 to no effect.

How does one completely uninstall OF2K completely on a Windows XP with
SP2 ? The tool I found on the MS site only supports up to Windows 2000
(eraser2k.exe)

I have also run scanpst.exe to no effect and disabled all addins.

Any ideas ?

If you search individual folders or groups of folders does the same thing
happen? I'm wondering if a single folder is causing an issue that can be
remedied quicker
