Outlook 2000 Address Book Sort Settings

When looking at my address book, I know how to temporarily sort the list to
last, first (automatically appears as first, last); however, the changes are
not saved when I exit the address book. Is there a way to save the sort
setting (last, first) permanently? I understand that some of my contacts
will still not sort properly due to how they were entered (import, etc.), but
it would be nice to get the ones that were entered properly to sort last,
first.

I've looked through the postings and saw similar questions but didn't an
answer for Outlook 2000. Thanks for any suggestions.

The setting will persist in the Outlook Address Book.
We do not know if you are using the Outlook Address book until you provide
your mail support mode and the method you used to change the setting.
If you don't know you mail support mode look at line 2 of Help | About.

Please forgive my lack of knowledge on the difference between some specific
terms. I assumed that because the window title was "Address Book" when I
opened the list of addresses that "Address Book" was the proper term. There
may be a more appropriate term.

I am unsure of which you help you wish me to look for. Line 2 of Help |
About in the Address Book window states "6.00.2900.2527" which I take to be
the version number. Line 2 of Help | About in the main window of Outlook
2000 states "Internet Mail Only - Security Update".

The method I used to change the setting was to open the Address Book by
clicking on the toolbar icon, clicking View | Sort by | Last Name.

Thanks for responding to my post. Hope this information helps you to help me.

Then you aren't using the Outlook Address Book.
You are using the Windows Address Book.
Behaving as designed.
