Outgoing Message Account

I am now receiving emails to 2 diff email addresses via 2 different servers
for Outlook (2 diff jobs!). I'll call the two diff accts new and old. I
just noticed that even though some people are sending me emails to the new
acct, when I REPLY, the sending email address is the old email address. I
read up on this in the HELP file and it told me I can change the default by
going to Tools/Options/Mail Setup/Change/Move. I moved the New address above
the old address. The new address now has "default" listed by its name. I
also read that in a Reply/New email, you can click "Accounts" and designate
which acct to send from.

OK, have tried both of these methods in sending test messages to my Yahoo
acct. Have created new emails from Outlook, have responded to messages that
I sent from Yahoo to the new acct (and rec'd at the new acct), and anything
else I could think of. Unfortunately, all my emails continue to indicate
that they are being sent by the old email acct. This is embarassing and
unprofessional for me. Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Will

When Outlook 2003 can't send a message on the assigned SMTP server because
of lack of proper authentication, Outlook falls back to the next available
SMTP server in the profile, which results in the From address from the
account whose SMTP server was used.

The fix? Make sure that any account that uses a server which supports
authentication is set up to authenticate to that server. Check with your
email administrator to learn what types of authentication is supported.

To change your authentication settings, go to Tools, Email Accounts, View or
change existing accounts, select the account and click Change. Click More
Settings then Outgoing Server tab to configure authentication.
