Outbox holding send emails

My outlook has been working just find. Now! all of my send
emails are holding up in the outbox. I have worked with my
Isp/earthlink for email and my test setting gives me all
completed checks. What is going on? Sharon

I utilize seven earthlink e-mail addresses. I use OE for five and Outlook
2002 for two. I recently received an e-mail from earthlink saying that the
smtp settings had to be changed. The changes included adding "auth" after
"smtp" and also changing the outgoing server information in the "more
settings" tab.

Once I did that, I could no longer send mail in Outlook. I tried a
combination of things and once I removed "auth" from the smtp settings, mail
was sent again. The "auth" addition to the smtp settings does, however, work
in OE.

I e-mailed earthlink and of course no one read the message before
responding. I got the same directions I told them I used. I may have to call
them if I can no longer send mail. I'm getting ready to upgrade to Outlook
2003. Not sure if I'll have that same problem.
