out of paper

Printing to an HP 4200 print TCIP printing, the printer
runs out of paper in the middle of a print job. After
adding paper, how do you clear the "Out of Paper" error in
Start>Settings>Printers>HP 4200? The printer would not
resume printing after paper was added.

Same problem - partial solution

I have the same problem: Windows 2000 Pro SP4 network, printer HP 4100N, printing over IP.

Usually print jobs remain stuck in the spooler with an "out of paper message"; sometimes even with plenty of paper left in the tray.

Occationally this works:
1. Open a command prompt on the server with administrator privilages
2. Type:
NET STOP SPOOLER
NET START SPOOLER


If someone has another, more convinient solution, please contribute.
