Out of office

My client has SBS Exchange 2003 with outlook 2003.

One of the users was leaving town and turned on the out of office feature.
The problem is that when an email is received from an external source the
message is received with no out of office reply. If the message is from the
same domain the message is replied with the out of office.

Why is the out of office feature not auto replying to all emails?

That's a setting on the exchange server, you say it just happens for just one
user and not others?

Out of Office messages are turned OFF for internet by default, and for a very good reason.

After furious head scratching, Lou asked:

Then like dlw said, it is an Exchange setting. Exchange doesn't allow
automatic replies to the Internet by default. Try searching the Exchange
docs for 'automatic replies to the Internet'.
