Prompt to turn "Out of Office Assistant" off missing

Hi there,

We are running SBS 2003 SP2 (Exchange Server 2003) and XP Pro and Vista
workstations.

One user running Vista and Outlook 2003 (cached mode) noticed something
strange the other day. She returned from vacation and started Outlook
however the message to turn the Out of Office Assistant off did not pop up as
it usually does. Another staff member emailed her and received the usual out
of office message and that is when she realized that she wasn't prompted to
turn it off.

Has anyone ever come across this before?

Is the user completely restarting Outlook, or just logging off and then
logging back in again? Have her restart Outlook and/or reboot the computer
and start Outlook, and see if the reminder pops up then.

hi jocelyn,

we've just been upgraded to Office 2007 and the "do you want to turn off
your out of office assistant" message doesn't come up automatically anymore.
is there a way i can activate this to happen? i can't find any help anywhere
about this.

Thanks for replying Jocelyn.....this person has since rebooted their computer
and could not create the problem so hopefully it was just a quirky, one-off
thing!

Hi Jocelyn,

Have you got any idea about my problem? While I try to turn "Out of
Office Assistant" on in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, I have got an
error as below:

"Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server
is currently unavailable. Try again later.". I do not configure OWA
yet. So, is there any way to solve this problem?
