Out of Office , forwarding

L

Larry

I created a rule that forwards all my mail to another
users Exchange mailbox (to verify operation) and at the
same time to my POP mail account (Bellsouth) and only the
Exchange account is receiving the forwards. I have done
this on 3 computers with the same result. I am using
Mail Essentials for Exchange on a server, but it does not
touch outgoing mail. I can send mail to the POP mail
account manually and it is received. Outlook 2000 is just
not sending it to the POP account. I need to set this
for a user who will be on medical leave and will need her
e-mail forwarded to home.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

L

By default, autoforward to the Internet is disabled in Exchange. You might
want to set up an active directory contact (mail enabled) for the external
POP account, and set alternate delivery on this mailbox to send a copy to
the contact - this won't require that Outlook be running, either.

A better option might be to have this user use OWA - that way, she gets
access to her full mailbox.
