Out of Date Definitions

Why does Defender install with 2 year old definitions? Can't someone at
Microsoft take 5 minutes to make an installer with current Definitions for
each month at least or 6 months if they're lazy? It's just stupid. Love the
product though. Works great.

There was a period of time during the beta when they did update the
installer periodically with new definitions.

Personally, I'd leave it the way it is. This is a no-revenue product that
they want running on every single Windows machine out there. Every detail
adds cost.

This way, they save the cost of making those changes--and that cost would
not be insignificant--making a change to an installer package and getting it
staged out worldwide has significant cost, I suspect--and, the new user
immediately finds out whether their update processes are up to snuff or not.

If you are in a situation where you want to have the latest defs on hand
because you are installing on a suspect machine--go to
