Otlk 03. Error.The operation failed. An object could not be found?

Newley installed Office 2003. E-mail account set up and tested ok. However,
get the error message "The operation failed. An object could not be found"
when trying to send or receive mail. Please help. Thank you in advance

sounds like an corrupt profile,
