Other places

While in My Network places the Network tasks and other
places is not on the screen. Is there a setting for this.

Do you mean the task pane on the left of the screen? If yes, open My
Network Places, go to Tools, select Folder Options, on the General tab,
place a check next to "Show common tasks in folders," click apply and ok.
