Glitch:
Does anybody know a good substitute program to replace the Sygate
personal firewall?
Zone alarm firewall is not an option 'cause I already used it and I
don't like it.
I have tried many different firewalls and Sygate was the one I stuck
with for years until I switched from Norton antivirus to PC-cillin
Internet Security, which has a firewall included. So far I like the new
firewall, it's a no brainer install, although I'm not sure it's
monitoring outgoing traffic like Sygate does.
One of the baffling things I found about choosing firewalls and/or virus
software, is the disparity in reviews. One site will love a product,
another will hate it; one site will claim that product X is leaky,
another site will claim that product A is secure.
I have tested every firewall I've tried with sites like GRC and
hackerwhacker, all of them have passed; even the firewall the comes with
XP even though it is heavily criticized. So I tend to make my decisions
based on usability and intrusiveness, so far my system has not been
comprimised.
