OT-OE question

I know this isn't the OE group, but you guys are pretty helpful to me so I thought I would give it a shot.
does anyone know how to get AOL email contacts and favorite sites copied into IE and OE? I am trying to talk my father into getting rid of AOL, but due to a lot of saved email addresses and bookmarks he is hesitant. If I knew how to open the correct file with notepad I would like to ccp the info to IE and OE. I have not been able to figure out a way to do so. If I can I would immediately give him my unused Outlook 2002 to use.
any hints or suggestions greatly appreciated.

I don't know if you can, since AOL does not support OE. You might just have to "fat-finger" them into OE. Maybe someone else has a better answer, but getting rid of AOL is a step in the right direction.

Agree on dumping AOL....
On the ad's for MSN, they say they can convert all the AOL address and
messages to MSN. I do not know if its a utility or you only get it if you go
with MSN. I will try and find it again, so far, not to much luck...

want to get father away from Americas Oldest Loser...
I appreciate it.

Sure will David,
This might take a little looking ( I am not on my regular PC and do not have
all the files on this one), IF I vanish and do not post it back here in a
day or so. Email me (my munged email is easy to figure out) to remind me. If
I can track down my sister, she did the same a few years ago when she dumped
AOL and it was not all that bad to do. Not sure what version of AOL she had.
This one below is a paid version (free if you go to MSN)

One of the MSN articles describing the AOL switch.
