OT? Hope not!

I often receive emails from one party with pictures included in the
content, not attached, But I cannot see the pictures. Instead, I see
large white boxes with very thin red borders where pictures should be,
and a similar, but tiny box in the upper left hand corner with a red
'X' in that tiny box.

What must I do to my system to get to see and enjoy those family pics?
The sender has no clue either. I'm told it's an IE setting. Is so?

WIN XP, H.E. - all latest updates - IE 6.0 - OE 6.0 P4 -
2.4Gig, with tons of hard drive space remaining.

Thanks for this and other great help I've been getting. I've had
computers since the old TRS-80, Commodore 64, Apple IIe and then built
my own PC's. But at 79, the moisture I feel now in my ear is my brain
leaking out! Again, thanX.
