OT: Has anyone used ISOBuster with Win XP to extract an ISO file?

This is a little off topic but has anyone used ISOBuster
(http://www.smart-projects.net/isobuster/). ISOBuster is a utility
recommended by Microsoft to extract a CD image from a downloaded ISO file.

I downloaded a volume license copy of Windows XP PRO from MSDN as an ISO
file. Now I need to create a CD from this file.

I downloaded ISOBuster that will extract an ISO file but I am not sure how
to create the actual Windows XP CD.

I have a writable CD in the CD writer drive but the ISOBuster application
apparantly cannot read the blank CD ("D: is not accessible. Incorrect
function")

Do I simply extract the contents to a temporary folder on my hard drive and
then use my regular CD burn software to copy the files onto the CD? Or is
there a way to get ISOBuster to extract directly onto the CD?

And what exactly do I "extract" with ISOBuster: the CD object, the Session
object, the track object or just the files themselves?

Thanks for any insights.

An ISO file is a CD image ready for burning to CD. You only need to use
Roxio, Nero, Alcohol 120, or any other cd writing software to burn the iso
image direct to cd.

If you are using Nero the command is Recorder/Burn Image. If you are using
other software, search the program help file for "Burn Image"

That extracts the content of an ISO file to give a folder that has the
files directly available. It is not a basis for making a new CD -
because that was probably bootable. Rather you need to use a third
party burn program to make a new complete CD direct from the ISO file
(which is a complete copy of the tracks on the CD including all
directories, Table of content and so on. You can use one of the regular
programs (eg in Nero - Recorder menu, Burn image, where you will have to
adjust the extension looked for to .iso) or if you do not have one, use
the free Isorecorder from
