How to use Microsoft ISO files

Use Ahead Nero or Roxio Easy CD creator in order to create (burn) a CD from
the downloaded ISO files.

Use ISOBuster to read and extract files from the ISO image.

Hello,

As a student, I have access to a Microsoft Alliance website where I allowed
to download a number of Microsoft products. I have downloaded several of
these products however, they download with an *.iso extension. I understand
that these extensions have to do with burning to a CD.

Can anyone provide a little insight here? How can I get these ISO files
into an executable format so I can install the products?

TIA,
Rich

As usual, Yves gives some bad advice disguised as good advice.

Roxio or Nero - good! Those will convert the ISO to a usable CD, but
take care to select the Burn Image option. Don't just burn the ISO
image to the CDR.

ISOBuster - BAD. Just extracting the contents of an ISO to the Drive
won't usually produce a file set you can use for installing.
Sometimes (but not very frequently) this works, but it's better to use
the ISO the way it was intended to be used.
