Burning a *.iso file

I downloaded a *.iso file and want to burn it to a CD. I know the file is
an image file - but when I tried to burn it (using Roxio Easy CD Creator),
all I got was a copy of the *.iso file - not the image I expected. What am
I doing wrong?

Got File>>select "Create CD From Disk Image"

Browse to the location where the ISO image was saved on the hard drive.

Select ISO from File Type.

Select the ISO image file.
