ISO Image

I have downloaded an ISO image of a CD and wish to burn it onto a CD to use
the files. If I do a straight burn, all I get is the image again. Any ideas,
please?

Simply just dragging the file to a disk is not how it works. Not sure
what software you are using (or what the image is of) but usually the
option to look for is "burn image to disk."

To burn ISO image files:
Try ImgBurn, InfraRecorder, BurnAware Free Edition, Ashampoo Burning Studio,
Nero... Most third party burning software have the option to open image
files to burn the files contained, look for a burning option that says
something like; "Burn an Image to a CD".

To open/extract files from an ISO image file:
If you want to extract the files from the image.iso file use a file
compressor application, most of them include the .iso and other formats to
open image files. Win RAR, WinZip, IZArc, 7-Zip

To edit; open/add/extract files from an ISO image file:
you can also use an ISO application; as MagicIso, UltraISO.
