OT Connect a tablet to a modern monitor?

Anybody familiar with the endeavor?

Researching it for the inexpensive Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7".
Apparently there are various ways to do so, like with HDMI (might
require a power adapter) and some sort of mirroring through Wi-Fi.

Any other device experiences?

Thanks.

using a standard HDMI cable and this adapter

Before going on vacation, I'll load a few movies onto the micro-SD card I
bought for it, and show them on the hotel TV. I haven't tried a
wifi/Bluetooth connection to do it since this has always work very well for
me.
