OT: Can my motherboard use a Dual core CPU?

Do you have to have a special motherboard in order to install a dual core
CPU?

My motherboard has a mPGA 487 socket (its brand is Matsonic MS 9127C).
The manual does not say anything about dual core, only hyperthreaded,
because
when it was produced there where not dual core CPUs yet....

here is the specs of the mobo http://www.monitorshop.sk/celeron1700.htm

thanks!

Stupid question.. after googling abit I found this thread:

The Socket-478 will not take dual-core CPUs. Most Socket-775 boards won't
take dual-cores either, you need to get a very recent board (Intel 945,
nForce 4, etc.) to have dual-core support.

The Intel Dual-Core processors ARE Socket 775 (for desktop boards anyway).
The 945 u r refering to is the many different chipsets that supports the
socket 775 form factor.
