osx network with w2k doesnt work

osx require port 139 on W2K to be "open" but how do I do
that,
my win98machine communicate ok with OSX in the same
network via router.

Hi Peter!

If you're attempting to connect to a Windows server through a router and
that server is on a private subnet, you'll need to forward port 139 at the
router.

You'll specify on the router that all traffic coming in on port 139 on the
public side should go to the IP address of your server on the private side
and specify port 139 for that IP address as well.

If this isn't answering your problem, please post back more details of the
networks such as type of router, what's on private IP addresses, what's on
public IP addresses, etc.
