OS Upgrade

Earlier this year I purchased Windows XP Professional to
upgrade my Windows 95 OS. I never got around to installing
XP and moved to a computer running Windows ME. Now I have
XP Professional (yet unopened and too far from purchase
date to return) that on the package states "For PC's
without Windows or PC's with Windows 95 or earlier
versions." Can I still use this software to upgrade ME to
XP?

Yes.
That is a full version intended for a Clean installation on computers
with no operating system or those with an OS to old incompatible of
upgrade.
This version can upgrade Windows 98ME as well as other versions.
You can not upgrade Windows 95 to Windows XP.
