Last time I had to redo this machine for some reason windows installed on d
drive instead of c...I noticed when it did it but I had been trying forever
to get XP to recognize a sata drive. When it finally did I didn't want to
change anything. So, no problems until now. I have a msi file that will
only install on c drive. It does not give you a choice....Since there is
no OS on c drive it can not install. (its drivers) Is there a way to
extract the files out of a msi file, or some way to force the msi file to
install on drive D?

You'd probably be better off reposting your question to a newsgroup related
