Orphaned Apps

I have a couple of Applications that have been removed (incorrectly) from
the computer but which continue to show in Control Panel's Install/Remove
Panel. I have searched through the Registry for references to them and
deleted all those found, but clearly I've not got rid of them all. Where is
the list of Apps stored?
