original not new address displayed after using send again

Using:
Outlook 2003 on XP Pro
Exchange 2000 on server 2000 all with latest patches

after using 'send again' from NDR, the 'to' address displayed in sent items
shows orignal (bad) address not new address.

e.g.
sent mail to (e-mail address removed)
receive NDR, click 'send again'
send to (e-mail address removed)
open mail sent to 'myfriend' from sent items.
'To' field on mail shows typo@.. not myfriend@...
my friend confirms they have received mail

Is this behaviour by design, a feature or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

Hi Oliver.

Thanks for your help however I forgot to mention that I'd already deleted
the .nk2 file and restarted outlook to rule that one out.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

FB.

Hi FB,

are you using additional Outlook Addressbooks with the same contacts but
stored with different addresses or in different contact folders?

In Outlook under "Tools/Addressbook/Tools/Options" you can change or add the
contact folders which Outlook will check after you sent an email.

Maybe the "contact" that you used to sent an e-mail is stored in different
contact folder with different e-mail information?
after using 'send again' from NDR,

What happends, if you type the email address by yourself, not from the NDR?

I'm not using additional address books and I've never sent an e-mail to the
person that I first experienced the problem with this morning. :(

If I type the address myself, everything works fine.

Have you been able to reproduce this?

Hi FB,

I noticed, if I "resend" a "failed" message where I changed the email
address, this message comes back again as failed.

If I create a new message, copy the text from the email into the new mail
and copy also the email address, it works.

I never understand this behavior, but I am not "patient" enough fo find out
why it is, like it is.

I notice this behavior only in one of thousand emails, so it was/is not
important enough for me.
If I type the address myself, everything works fine.

Then I would delete the contact information, create a new contact, delete
again the .nk2 file and then it normally must work. I never send an email
again where I get a NDR.
