original message not always included when replying

In Outlook 2003, when replying to a message the complete received message is
not always included.
The settings are to include the original message(s), but Outlook 2003
sometimes leaves out the replied answer when replying to the answer.
This is not from every email account.
Could it have something to do with the fact that it is a IMAP account via
Compuserve?

Reading through these treads, I see that a similar question was posted on
December 23 2004, without any answers, and a tread about disappearing text
when switching from preview to disply text. It is claimed that this could be
because of an active anti-virus software. It is not clear to me what the
reasoning would be behind pointing to the antivirus software, when this is
not appearing in all messages.
I would very much like to hear any suggestions.
