Replies - Removing extra lines in original message

I have Microsoft Word 2003 and Outlook 2003. Word 2003 is my email editor.
When I reply to emails and want the original message included, the reply
message inserts numerous spaces between the original address and original
message. I do not have this problem when I do not use Word 2003 as my email
editor. I like Word as my email editor but do not like the format of the
reply message. I have tried everything and lost many hours trying to correct
this. Manually deleting all those spaces takes way too much time. What can I
do?

I wanted to bump this up because I've just started having the same problem...

Any ideas??
