Organize Favorites causes error 352 in IE 6

Hi.

For the second user on my system (who also has Administrative Rights) I am
getting an error message in IE 6. This does NOT happen to both XP users.

When we click on Organize Favorites we get a dialog box titled 'Microsoft
Internet Explorer' that says:

An error has occured in this dialog.
Error: 352
Invalid Class String

Deleting all of our favorties from this user does nothing. Telling Add
Remove Programs to delete and reinstall IE 6 does nothing. Copying the
favorites folder in Documents and Settings from the other user for 'testing
purposes' does nothing. Turning off Norton Internet Security 2006 completely
does nothing. I DID run Windows Update and I DO have all the latest updates.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Don

Hi Don,

See if this helps:

Organize Favorites dialog in Internet Explorer displays a "Red X" mark:

Hi.

Thanks for the URL. A link on that page reads this:

Another possibility - Installation of MS05-052 update
This problem may also be seen in the aftermath of installing the MS05-052
Cumulative update for Internet Explorer. The solution is documented in this
article, with a VBScript to automate the task.

I then linked to that page (http://windowsxp.mvps.org/olereg.htm) and at the
bottom found this paragraph:

Resolution
This occurs due to missing OLE32 registration. You may use the following
VBScript to correct the above problems. Download olereg.vbs and run the file.

I downloaded the olereg.vbs file and ran it. Then logged on as the 'problem
user' and the problem was fixed.

Thanks for your help.
