Order of operations from Soup to Nuts :-)

OK,
After going through PJ's site and reading many posts here
on the forum, I am still unclear as to what to do when
going from the DV Cam to final DVD. I believe that the
order is:
1) Transfer the video to the computer
2) Edit the movie with MM2
3) Save the movie file that is completed after editing
4) Use TMPGEnc DVD Author to encode the movie
5) Use Nero to burn to DVD.

The problem I have starts after I have encoded the movie
with TMPGEnc. That operation is successful however when I
try to open Nero to burn it to disc, Nero says
unrecognized format.

Can someone clarify what steps I am missing in trying to
finish my first movie.

Be sure you are using a version of Nero that will burn DVDs or else it can't recognize the .mpg file. Do you have a DVD burner installed? Gotta have one to make DVDs! Also, you have to buy some blank DVD recordable media.
