Orange lines on windows loading screen.

I am running Windows Xp Home with service pack 2. On bootup, the BIOS screen
and letters goes all distorted then once the Windows loading screen comes
there are 6 Orange dotted lines running down my screen. Two of them are near
the center and close together and the others are near the sides. This
happened out of the blue and I have not had any problems with my current PC
before. I did get booted up though after 2 resets it went away. I am scared
to shut my computer off now as I am scared that it wont boot again. All help
