Optimize XP faster

I have a Precision 420 running XP
an it's so sluggish.
any ways I can make it faster.
It takes a while to scroll Excel files, Access DB etc.

If it has always been sluggish, then you could try adding more RAM and/or a
faster processor.

If it has become sluggish then do some maintenance, defrag, disk clean up,
etc
 
There are dozens and dozens of ways to make XP faster
depending on what you are doing. Disabling Paging
Executive is one such improvement. Giving your CMOS
priority is another. Places like www.kellys-korner-xp.com
www.dougknox.com www.blkviper.com and hundreds of other
sites have tips and tweaks. It's a matter of surfing for
tips and tweaks and then attempting some. Keep smiling.
