Optimal Driver Load time (HP OfficeJet T65)

P

Peter Reaper

The HP OfficeJet T65 has a very large driver that loads with Windows
XP's Autostart. It significantly increases Windows' startup time, so I
disabled it (removed from autostart). Now, every time I print something,
the HP driver loads - on *every* print job! :-(

Is there some way to load only the print driver (and not the
scanner/e-mail/kitchen-sink module) that loads faster and would alow me
to print without having to load the full driver?

Bonus Points:
Is there a way to load the bare printer driver for normal print jobs,
and the full driver when it is needed?

Thank you

You could add a printer using the Microsoft built-in drivers for T and R
series All-in-ones. Print to this when you want basic features, print
to the HP driver when you want the whole enchilada. See
