Optical Mouse light always on?

Hello,

I have a JASCO/GE PS2 optical mouse (Model #HO98802) that works great.
However, when the machine HIBERNATES or is SHUTDOWN; the USB jacks and the
PS2 still has electricity running through it. The light for the mouse is
always one. Is there a jumper on the board or a tweak in the BIOS that I
can do to cause the light to shut-off during hiberanation or shutdown.

Thanks,
Andor

If the mouse is shutdown, you cannot use it to wake up the pc.
To pwr of the mouse, pwr off the sys.

You can set the properties for the mouse "allow this device
to wake up" and allow or not.

If the USB mouse can't wake up the computer, the power will
shutdown to the USB when the computer is put to sleep.

| excepting that wont turn off mouse pwr, pwr is from the
usb port.

This is the design of your motherboard. You can check the BIOS
settings, but there is nothing in Windows that controls this. Windows
does not have the abilities (like Linux does) to disable power to a USB
Hub through just the software. I am going to take a stab and guess that
the fans still run when you put it into Standby? Hibernation is a
weirder one because this should turn everything off including the mouse.
Do check and make sure you don't have any way of waking the computer
on mouse or USB.
