Opinions on the i960

Hello,

I tried this on another news group and got no answer. This looks like it
might be the place to post. So here is my question....

I take alot of digital photos with my Canon S50 and would like to have the
ability to produce photo quality prints at home.

I am considering the i960 printer. Does anyone have any comments or know of
any reasons not to purchase this model?

My Internet research indicates this is a good printer.

The i960 is my first photo quality printer. It has been great from the first
print and hundreds later. If you are new to inkjet photo printing, I would
stick with the Canon Inks and papers

I have had an I960 for about 7 months. I use it for photo prints.

It's a great value. It prints well on many different papers (Canon and others
.. . . I happen to prefer Epson ColorLife). The replacement ink cartridges are
relatively inexpensive (particularly on Ebay) and very easy to replace. I have
never had a clog (as oposed to many with my old Epson).

Put it this way - I'm about to buy the Australian version, the i965.
But then again don't count my vote, because I bought a pathetic, epson
stylus CLOGFACTORY too.

The I960 is a great printer. Its very fast, quiet and takes care of
itsself like the other Canon I models. If you do not print much, then
you will be ok only by filling with original canon inks and canon
papers as previously suggested.

If you do go through alot of ink, then you may want to consider
refilling your cartridges with quality ink such as Formulabs. Several
vendors carry this ink and are listed here regularly as they are
highly recommended.

I have the previous model, the i950 and it's been economical (as far as
inkjets go), troublefree and prints perfectly.

I use only original Canon inks and redriver paper, so ymmv.

thought would be a good choice. Now I only need to find the best place to
purchase.
