Canon i960

I need to get a printer that does better photo work than my DJ 970 can. My
research has led me to the Canon i960. Could I hear from fans and
detractors as to whether this is a good choice? What's better?

Thanks.

I have the Canon i860 which is the 5-ink version of the i960 and it print
gorgeous photos on glossy paper. On regular paper it does a wonderful job
as well.

Ink is cheap and easy to refill.

I haven't seen the output of the Deskjet 970, so I can't make a direct
comparison. However, in general, the i860 and i960 are very nice printers!

P.S. check out the i860 as well - it's a pretty cheap printer.

Do you have 'fit to page' activated? Does deselecting 'fit to page' give
black text'? (my S520 does this).

I have both HP and the Canon i960. The prints from the Canon are superior
ammo. Finer ink dot and doesn't have the graininess of the HP in blue sky
areas. Yellow/Brown colors seem more accurate on the Canon as well. Faster
output too. No problems with it so far.

I have various photo printers and the i960 is hard to beat. It's fast, quiet
and reliable. I do find that Epson typically has better print quality but is
slower and can be finicky with clogs if the printer is not used often.
