Canon i960 question.

I see that Canon is offering a $30 rebate on the i960 Photo printer, I am
tempted to go out and buy one. However I have a question: Canon does not
offer a 8x10 photo paper (though it can be gotten from a 3rd party). Does
that mean the this printer will not print borderless 8x10's?
Thanks,
Doug.

I just scrolled through Easy-Print's newest version (Canon's i960 print
manager). I selected letter size and it gives me the option to print
borderless or not. Only item I note on borderless is that, depending on the
image, it will crop the photo to the page (i.e. it may cut off a bit of the
top to fit). It does have sizing for doing the borderless though so you can
adjust the size down until you get a faint border on the paper.
Still, that is an excellent printer for the price. I saw the $30 rebate too
at CompUSA (mail-in). Haven't changed a cart yet and they are cheaper than
HP by a third their cost.

I just ordered mine for 177 shipping included. no rebate of course.
Same price I guess without fooling with rebates. Search on
pricewatch.com and you will find it if you are interested.

Oh, and one other thing for cost efficiency. alotofthings.com and
inkjetgoodies.com

for refill ink and empty refill cartridges. I will sell my original
canon inks which pays for the blank cartridges. So I am only out the
bulk ink which is not much considering the cost of canon inks.

I think you may still be able to get the rebate, it is from Canon. Try
their web site, there is a pdf for a rebate form there.

Thats fine as I just ordered my printer yesterday which was the 4th. I
had no clue of the rebate either. Good timing I suppose.

Yup, I found out about the rebate while looking at specs, that was the
final straw. Set it up this morning, I am really surprised how fast it is!!

Wonderful... I hope to get mine here early next week. Let me know what
you think of the text printing. I have an I850 now that does a great
job but from all that I read, the text is not very good with the
950/960.

Considering the black is a bci-6 tank, Im wondering if it always
prints a mixed black. I do not print text much but I do need to make
a photo copy or write a letter once in a while.

I would be interested in your findings with the text and what paper
you tested on as well.
