Opinions on latest AMD and Intel processors, is one better suited for development?

Looking to pick up a notebook and wanted query the developer community
for any feedback, sorry if this is off topic.

Does the Intel Core 2 Duo chip offer any advantages to .NET developers?
I remember, it seems like a year or so back when the 64-bit AMD chips
were still new, there was a big deal about 64-bit being supported in
VS.NET 2005.

I've gotten a bit behind on the CPU advancements and what 64-bit
currently means to managed code.

I'm looking at either Intel Core 2 Duo or an AMD Turion 64 x2 for a
notebook computer. I'll be purchasing a model with a non-shared memory
graphics chip.

Does one of these processors beneift over the other form managed code
now? How about in the near term future?

The AMD multi-core chips use a significantly faster communications bus
between cores. Intel uses the FSB while AMD uses an internal cross-bar
system.

One thing you may wish to consider is which CPUs are supported by the
VS2005 profiler, if that's important to you. I believe some of the
profiling has to use quite CPU-specific support, although I'm having
trouble tracking down any documentation on Microsoft's site at present.
