Opinions on Epson and HP All-in-Ones?


I'm looking at the RX600 Epson All-in-One...
What's your opinions?
Is the ink waterproof?
Will there be another new High-End All-In-One model coming out shortly?



Also, what's the best HP All-In-One with FAX?

There's so many of them, I don't even know where to start looking!

I need the highest quality/best one made...
Mac OS compatibility, color FAX, plain paper, waterproof ink, all the
bells and whistles. Inkjet or Laser is fine if it's color. Under $1,200.


Wireless is a bonus.


Any other All-In-One with FAX for MACINTOSH OS you might recommend?

Hi Adam,
I have the Epson RX500, which is almost identical to the RX600 in specs.
No, the ink is not waterproof, but for me it is of no consequence. The
RX500 has
an excellent scanner with high resolution. The 8X10's I have made from
scanned
in 35 mm slides look great. I have had it one year and am completely
satisfied with
my purchase.

Sorry if I've misinterpreted, but your query gives the impression that
the RX600 has FAX capability. Is that correct?

The RX600 doesn't have FAX. But the HPs have Fax.... so I'm looking for
opinions on the Epson (I'd just get a stand-alone fax machine), and then
the HPs... there are so many HPs, I'm having a hard time deciding.

Do a search on this group you will find posts to your question.It is a hard decision
to make, I ended up with an HP PSC 2410, does all I want, has FAX, prints great
photos and know what...NO PRINT HEADS.You surely must've noticed a good portion of
posts on this group are about Canon and Epson clogged printheads.......... my.02

The RX600 may not have a built in fax, but like my RX500 you can still use an

interface program, like Norton's Winfax to handle them. This program can
take
scanned in documents from the Epson and include them as fax documents. No
need for a separate fax machine. For receiving fax documents, I have people
send them to a fax-modem connected to my PC. Works for me.

Not an answer to the above question, but insight nevertheless . . .

For what it's worth, I've used a Canon MP730 AIO for some time, and it
works perfectly. No clogged print head, and cost-effective operational
costs. And, the fax system with built-in ADF works great.

HP's do have print heads as everyone knows; they're changed everytime
you change an ink cartridge.

Don
