When I try to open a jpg file in explorer using the OPEN
WITH function and then select Photoshop, Photoshop does
open but the picture file does not appear! From within
Photoshop I can open jpg files, and jpg files do open
correctly when I select OPEN WITH and then any other
program.
I have a feeling there is a Registry problem but have no
idea what to look for!
Thanks for your help!

Open With is a way of setting up a very basic association, and it may
not provide the information in the way Photoshop is expecting You need
to set associations up from the program concerned or its setup. I don't
know Photoshop at all well, but taking a look at a copy of the Limited
Edition that is around it appears to me that it does not *expect* to be
told to open and display a file name that has been passed to it. You
can therefore get a file association to load it, but will still need to
use its File - Open to get the file into it
