Opening .xls files in Outlook Express

How do I open .xls files (Excel) in Outlook Express when I
am using Windows XP Home edition or can I?

Why would you want to? use Excel to open them.

In OE, Tools - Options - Security - Do not allow me access to my files (or similar words to describe this bug)
