Opening Word 2003

I am not able to open Word from a desktop shortcut or the Start menu. The
only access is through an existing Word document in My Documents. I have no
clue as to what happened. Would someone please tell me what to do in simple
terms.

Your shortcuts are probably broken. If you browse to this folder:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11
You should be able to find the Word program there. Do you know how to
create a shortcut? You would need to create a shortcut to your Desktop from
the file: WinWord.exe

the file/program that
launches msword is called
winword.exe and is usually
found in the main program files
folder where msoffice
program files are located.

also, you can click the
start button then run
and enter winword
to launch it.

With Word open, click Help, Detect and Repair, elect to fix shortcuts.

Start>Run winword /r

Note the <space> before the /r
