Error opening Microsoft Word documents

Hi. I have a XP machine. I've an error when I try to open word documents
with double-click button of the mouse. If I try to open the documents, the
window where is the document I will open, gets blocked, and the Microsoft
Word does not start. But If I open the Microsoft Word, and I open the file
from file-open at the Microsoft Word menu, It opens the document correctly.
I tried to uninstall and reinstalling the Microsoft Office 2003, but the
problem still appearting. What can I do?.

Have you tried to right click the file and select "open with" then choose
Word to open it with.
