opening problem

I have no idea what is going on. Everytime I try to open defender, it
flashes on the screen and then disappears. Tried removing and loading again
and still the same problem. Help!

Use Administrative Tools (Event Viewer). Administrative Tools can be found
under the Control Panel - Performance and Maintenance. Windows Defender
records events in both Application and System. Post what you find so that
Microsoft people and others can better help you.

It'd be helpful to know which version of Windows is involved. One thing to
try is going to Start, Control Panel, add or remove programs, Windows
Defender, and choosing Change, then Update.
