Opening Outlook 2003

When I open Outlook 2003 at times it will appear to be
opening then it will close immediately. If I can hit
send/receive immediately and get it to start checking
mail to be downloaded it will continue to open correctly
and download mail. This is a troubling problem. Any
suggestions? I am about to return to OE for my e-mail.

find and rename outcmd.dat and *.srs - both are at C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.
