Opening New Browser Window

I cannot open more than one window. In other words, when
I am visiting a site, I cannot minimize and open a new
window, it automatically uses the same window. I am
unable to open a sepereate window from anywhere. I have
plenty of disc space available, I am stumped. Would
appreciate any feedback on this.

Go to internet options..advanced tab and uncheck reuse windows for launching
shortcuts.

Okay, did that. Even rebooted. Still only one window.
I also can't run clean disk cleanup. It hangs after
about 30 seconds. Anything else I might could try?

Hi,
From IE> Tools> Internet Options> Advanced> Browsing> uncheck "Reuse windows
for launching shortcuts."

And... you have a program running which is blocking pop-up windows-
something like Yahoo Companion, Google toolbar, MSN toolbar, a firewall,
Earthlink (or another pop-up blocker) My IE2 (a shell for IE) etc.
Yahoo Companion is a very common cause.

You'll have to turn off the feature that's blocking new windows or, perhaps,
uninstall the program.

With some programs of this type, using Ctrl+click or Shift+click will allow
a new window.

Just a note to thank you guys for the help. I couldn't get IE6 to open a new
window all of a sudden and, thanks to your help, I found that Google Toobar
was the culprit (funny, though... I have been running the Google toolbar for
several months with no problems)

You might try the following and see if the information will help:

Open Multiple Windows In IE

To keep more than one browser window open at a time, click File in the main
menu, select New, then Window. To close a browser window, click the X in the
top right-hand corner or select Close from the File menu. You can also open
a new browser window with Ctrl+N.

Try these steps:
Open IE, tools, internet options.
Select Advanced tab and click the [restore defaults] button.
Later, select the Programs and click the [reset web settings] button.
Click OK.
