Opening multiple files

I used to be able to open multiple files within XP. eg I
would open my photos, highlight several pictures, right
click and click open and the files would all open in my
editing suite. This does not now happen. I can only open
a single file this way. Any suggestions?
 
That is a setting in you editing suite (whatever that is), and not a xp
problem..
