Opening JPG and GIF files in Windows 2000

We are having a problem opening JPG and GIF files. We are
running Windows 2000 and when I double click on a JPG or
GIF file Microsoft Photo editor runs and I get the
following error messages. 1. No file format information
can be found in the registry. 2. Unknown format. Now if I
logon to the computer with Adminitrative privaledges I can
view the files by double clicking on the file. Thanks.

do this logged in as an administrator:

1. start/run/regedt32
2.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\SharedTools\GraphicsF
ilters (high light it)
3. Security Menu
4. Permissions
5. Uncheck, allow permissions from parent to propagate
6. Give USERS full control
7. Click on OK

log in again as that user and try it.
