Opening hyperlinks without current IE window opening in background

We are using Windows XP and IE 7. We have several users who like to
open IE, then minimize it to the Taskbar. Then, when they try to open
a hyperlink from an email, it opens that minimized window in the
background, forcing the user to close/minimize two windows instead of
just the new one. Any suggestions?

Are you completely up to date? SP3 installed? I cannot reproduce/simulate
that problem..
