Minimize to task tray (by clock)

I recently got a new computer, on my old one Microsoft Outook would run in
the background so when I minimized it it would show a icon by the clock on
the taskbar and then my notifications would still pop up without having the
window open all the time. Now on this one when I minimize it it just stays
on the main task bar not as on icon.

does anyone know how to fix this? It would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!!

Are you confusing MS Outlook on your old machine with MS Outlook Express on
the new one? The latter will/does not "minimize to task tray" (Notification
Area).

A far easier way is to put it in Quick Launch and/or on Start button. A
study of the websites revealed that I'd have to play with the Registry, not
good unless absolutely necessary and one knows what he/she is doing (I
honestly don't.). Also Quick Launch shows what folder it defaults to (mine
is set for Calendar.)

Only advantage I see to Systray is that there are options to always show or
hide and hiding does make for a shorter space on Taskbar; I believe you
always want it showing which q-l allows for.
