opening files

in xp sp 2 i click on a file but instead of the file opening i get the
search page opening with it wanting me to search the file im trying to open
can i fix this?

Thx I had tried the Doug Knox site but couldnt get it to work so i looked up
a few other threads and found 1 that worked thx anyway
